Advice and Kitchen Sales Available Now!!

We have seeds, soil and soil amendments available for sale by arrangement. You may want to visit the farm and talk with Mike Rabinowitz, Co-owner, about seed selection. We have been farming organically on the Avalon Peninsula for over twenty years. Year after year, Mike brings in varieties of seeds from seed houses in New England and Canada to try in our short season climates. He works specifically with some seed houses because they seem to be concerned about germination levels and will actually replace seeds which do not consistently germinate. Thus, the seeds we use and sell are more than likely to provide more consistent results than seeds bought elsewhere. We only sell the seeds we use on the farm, which include several varieties of lettuce, carrots, beets, cabbage, etc. and Latah Tomatoes. Latah tomatoes are an outdoor tomato that we have grown successfully outdoors for the past three years. (See Articles and Fact Sheets). People who used Latah seeds and plants last year, are already calling to reserve their Latahs this year. Call or E-mail us for an appointment. If we have time, we can chat over coffee and see what’s already growing in the greenhouses.

Gardening Centre and Farm Store: Open Sundays in Mid-May!!
If you are looking for plants and shrubs that are grown locally and organically, you will not find them anywhere else. We only sell the plants we have grown and developed on the farm. This will include shrubs, herbs and vegetables transplants ready for your greenhouse, cold frames or outdoor gardens. Keep in touch with Website and local papers for more information about varieties and availability. We also sell some soil amendments and vegetable row cover which we use on all early outdoor planting to boost heat and protect plants from cabbage moths. .
Organic Food Products. In addition to fresh vegetables and herbs in season, we plan to make available organic products grown and produced in Atlantic Canada. As these arrangements are made, they will be posted on our Website/ under Farm Store.
